Children and Families at St John’s
1st Sundays is ‘All-In’, where whole families and friends of all ages enjoy worshipping together in all sorts of fun ways. We sing, and pray together, then explore our theme through: art, drama, discussion, cooking, song writing, soaking prayer, creative writing and craft.
2nd / 4th Sunday is COGS, our children’s church. Our committed team of volunteers love to fill their time together with fun and learning, exploring bible stories and how that shapes how we live, and connecting with God together in prayer and play. The children find nurture and confidence in three age groups. Sometimes everyone joins together for a short time of worship in song or stillness.
We value the outworking of faith through rest and relationships, so on 3rd Sundays we’ve created opportunity for families to connect together outside of the church building and ‘be’ church together as a family or with others in the community.
Children at Sunday @ 10am - Knight’s Meadow
Children are always welcome at Knights Meadow!
‘BIKS’, our group for pre-school and primary-age children, meets during the service on the first and third Sundays of every month. Typically, we focus on a bible story and enjoy playing games and being creative. This group is very flexible: we adapt according to the children who attend.
On the second Sunday of each month, children are an important part of our ‘Second Sunday’ initiative, where we meet in the hall for a range of activities for all ages, followed by lunch. This is a chance for everyone to have fun and get to know each other– and children love it!
The fourth Sunday is our All Age Worship, when the service is designed to include everyone.
In all our services, an area is set aside with play mats and toys for parents with babies and toddlers, should they wish to use it.
